Canada’s Top-10 Handgun Brands (RCMP Data): S&W, Ruger, Glock, SIG, CZ, and Five More

TheGunBlog.ca — Smith & Wesson is the most-popular handgun brand among Canada’s roughly 300,000 government-licensed owners of pistols and revolvers, followed by Ruger and Glock.

Following are the country’s top-10 handgun brands and actions as of November 2022, based on the number of personally owned models registered with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

  • Canadians with a firearm licence own about 1.2 million handguns.
  • Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made it a crime to buy, sell, or give away any handgun as of October 2022, and police confiscate handguns from the heirs of government-licensed owners after they die.
