Following are the country’s top-10 handgun brands and actions as of November 2022, based on the number of personally owned models registered with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
- Canadians with a firearm licence own about 1.2 million handguns.
- Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made it a crime to buy, sell, or give away any handgun as of October 2022, and police confiscate handguns from the heirs of government-licensed owners after they die.
