TheGunBlog.ca — Canada’s Liberal Party-led administration plans new forced confiscations targeting government-licensed gun owners “very soon” after having repealed regulations two weeks ago that protected us, said Ian Runkle, a firearms lawyer.
Sudden Repeal
The Liberals repealed the Firearms Records Regulations (Classification) on December 16 without any parliamentary or public review, calling the sudden change “immaterial and insubstantial.”
The Conservative Party had passed the policy in 2014 to protect gun owners, Runkle said.
He analyzed the repeal and its significance in a video yesterday titled “Liberals Plan A Sneaky Gun Ban By Reclassification.”
Runkle Expects Prohibitions ‘Very Soon’
Runkle said:
What I’m expecting is that we will see some new reclassifications.
We’ll see some firearms that you and I might think are “Restricted” firearms or “Non-Restricted”
firearms suddenly reclassified as “Prohibited.”…
I expect that this is actually going to affect some fairly popular models. So wait and see, but I
suspect we’re going to see some revocation notices — or some “nullification” as they’ve decided to use to avoid judicial review — going out very soon.
