Dear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,
I’ll always remember May 01, 2020.
It’s the day you set me free.
I trusted our system of government and our parliamentary democracy.
On May 01, 2020, you showed me my mistake and set me free.
I trusted the RCMP, I believed they worked to protect honest people, and I shared my purchases with them.
On May 01, 2020, you (and they) showed me my mistake and set me free.
I trusted that if I obeyed the law, I wouldn’t be viewed as a criminal.
On May 01, 2020, you showed me my mistake and set me free.
I believed that, as long as I lived in Canada, I would be safe from the type of arbitrary and capricious prohibitions, confiscations and incarcerations that my parents and grandparents experienced in Europe under the Nazis and the Communists.
On May 01, 2020, you showed me my mistake and set me free.
I would never advise anyone to disobey the law, because that would be illegal.
On May 01, 2020, you showed me that obeying the law can also be illegal.
By arbitrarily and unilaterally rewriting the law, you’ve given me my first experience of being considered a criminal.
I appreciate your invitation to play your new game by your new rules, but I’ll pass.
You just put me outside the law.
I think I might just stay.
Yours sincerely,
Liberated Canadian

The most important part of gun rights isn’t “gun,” it’s “rights.”
