Goodale Wants New Gun Law in ‘Weeks Ahead,’ National Post Says

The Canadian government is working to produce a new gun law “during the weeks ahead,” the National Post reported today, citing Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promised while campaigning for the October 2015 election to repeal a law that simplified firearms transport, among eight points related to guns in the Liberal Party’s campaign platform.

“That process is underway in developing the specific legislative proposals,” Goodale was quoted as telling the newspaper. “I want to produce during the weeks ahead the full, specific package that we’re talking about.”
